HIVE
is a community-based project that inspires surrounding neighborhoods to utilize their culture and traditions to better appreciate their local pollinator network through education and representation of surrounding cultures through a block party celebration.
As a group, we were tasked with finding a solution that encourages the community of Kingsessing, Philadelphia, to engage in their pollinator network.
Through lots of deep-diving research, looking into the underrepresented food communities that reflect the Kingsessing community, we collectively created a ‘Hive’ within your cohort that showcases your community’s strengths and highlights already existing networks, along with an opportunity to empower local businesses, chefs, and gardeners and culminate these assets all into a culturally representative block party.
